<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet rotary electric machine that can reduce induction electromotive force in a high-speed mode and have high torque characteristics in a low-speed mode. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the permanent magnet rotary electric machine that has: a magnetic torque-principal eight-pole PM mode in which armature winding 23 has eight poles and variable magnetic force magnets are magnetized in the same direction with a magnetic field generated by supplying a large magnetization current only for a predetermined short time; a four-pole IPM mode in which the armature winding has four poles and four variable magnetic force magnets are magnetized in opposite directions from adjacent magnets with a magnetic field generated by supplying the magnetization current for the predetermined short time for operation with both magnet torque and reluctance torque; and a four-pole RM mode in which the armature winding has four poles and the four variable magnetic force magnets are demagnetized with a magnetic field generated by supplying the magnetization current for the predetermined short time for operation only with reluctance torque, variable-speed operation being carried out at a start and during transition of a speed area by changing the mode among those eight-pole PM mode, four-pole IPM mode, and four-pole RM mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
