<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transform an application body according to the growing direction of the eyelash in applying mascara easily, accurately and evenly. <P>SOLUTION: A nearly columnar shaped application body 12 is provided in an opening 9c at the leading end of a hollow holding shaft 9 fixed in a cap 7, and is composed of four application body pieces 12a that form comb teeth 12b composed of a plurality of projections 12b' on the surface. The advancing/retreating shaft 11 of an advancing/retreating mechanism 10 provided inside the cap 7 is inserted in the holding shaft 9 in a manner capable of advancing/retreating in the axial direction of the holding shaft 9. A shaft body 12e integrally formed with the application body 12 is connected with the advancing/retreating shaft 11. Consequently, the application body abuts on the inside of the opening of the holding shaft or is pressurized outside the opening by the advancing/retreating mechanism, is transformed so as to bulge out outward in the center along the axial line of the holding shaft, or is able to be restored to the original nearly columnar shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
