<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly detect a state of the remaining amount of a recording medium using a position detecting mark that is formed in the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 2 includes: a mark length detection unit 41 for detecting a length in a conveyance direction of a black mark based on a detection value of a black mark sensor 64 during the conveyance of the recording medium; and a remaining amount detection unit 42 for detecting a state of the remaining amount of the recording medium based on the length of the black mark detected by the mark length detecting unit 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
