摘要 A wind power generation device (10) generates power by the rotation of a rotor (18) to which blades for receiving wind are provided, and comprises a synchronous power generator (30) for transmitting the generated power to a power system and a seawater resistor (78) in which seawater is used as a resistive element. When an instantaneous power failure or the like occurs due to an accident that has occurred in the power system and thereby the output of the synchronous power generator decreases rapidly and excess energy occurs, the seawater resistor (78) consumes, as electric power, the excess energy of the power generated by the synchronous power generator (30) that cannot be transmitted to the power system. The seawater resistor (78) in which seawater is used as a resistive element hardly causes problems of heat generation because seawater is used and also facilitates the replacement of seawater. Therefore, the seawater resistor (78) consumes energy as electric power without being restricted by the life time and on-time thereof, so that the excess energy can be consumed with a quick response speed.
