The gearbox (12) has multiple planetary gears (16) operatively connected with a drive shaft (14) i.e. crankshaft. A brake device i.e. ring gear drum brake, brakes ring gears (26) and comprises a radially movable friction surface (28) that is located radially outside the ring gears. The friction surface is brought into contact with an anti-friction surface (30) of the ring gears under an action of electromagnetic force. Each planetary gear comprises a sun wheel (22) connectable with the drive shaft, and a planetary carrier connected to planetary wheels (24a) in a torque-proof manner. The gearbox has a biasing element radially inward bent, so that the biasing element is fastenable at a housing of a carrier element. The biasing element is designed as a spring element such as plate spring or cup spring. An independent claim is also included for a powertrain.
