1379958 Endless conveyers ANCHOR HOCKING CORP 29 March 1972 [31 March 1971] 14818/72 Heading B8A Articles, e.g. bottle tops, in a supply hopper 3 are fed to a conveyer 4 at a higher level by an endless conveyer 15 inclined to the horizontal and formed with a series of operatives 25 spaced along the centre thereof and in communication, along the conveying run, with a plenum chamber 11 coupled to a vacuum source 8 whereby the articles may be held against the belt and conveyed thereby. Article guides 32, 33, 34 are arranged above and to the sides of the conveying run of the conveyer and a spring-urged flap valve 10 is provided in the side of the plenum chamber to control the degree of vacuum applied to the articles. The return run of the conveyer is arranged within the plenum chamber which is formed of two channel section members 28 with a slit 26 therebetween to allow the communication between the operatives 25 and the chamber, each member being secured to the respective limb 16 of a further channel member. |
