<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a stringing method for cable relaxation prevention which allow stringing of a cable without excessive relaxation produced in the cable or excessive tension exerted on the cable regardless of the type of the cable. <P>SOLUTION: The cable relaxation preventing apparatus 10 includes: transmission/reception means 13, 13a for receiving a second cable movement distance signal indicating a second cable movement distance transmitted from another cable relaxation preventing apparatus 10; and stop signal generation means 14, 17 that determine a difference between a first cable movement distance detected by cable movement distance detection means 21, 21a, 12 and the second cable movement distance indicated by the second cable movement distance signal received by the transmission/reception means 13, 13a.
