1,091,638. Pipe joints. F. DREXLER. May 12, 1965 [May 15, 1964], No. 19989/65. Heading F2G. A joint, e.g. between the ends of pipes, comprises a groove 10 and a co-operating tongue 2, the latter having a curved surface 1 which abuts the curved groove surface 3 to form a joint sealing line, and a surface 4, curved, Fig. 1, or flat, Fig. 7, which co-operates with a corresponding form of groove surface 5 to provide a pressure-receiving zone 6; the surfaces forming the zone 6 may be harder or softer than those forming the joint sealing line. There may be more than one pressure-receiving zone. The device may be used in spherical or conical joints. |
