<p>A method and apparatus for identifying information about spatially unresolved objects 112 such as automobiles, aircraft or spacecraft in hyperspectral images is disclosed. Radiant intensity measurements 130 for an object 128 are identified from sensor data 108 for a plurality of bands 122 of electromagnetic radiation 118. The object 128 has parts 115. A system of equations (206, Fig 2) that includes the radiant intensity measurements 130 is generated. The system of equations (206, Fig 2) is solved to identify information about each part in the parts 115 of the object 128. The information may comprise at least one of a temperature and an emissivity area for the each part. A total number of the plurality of bands 122 may be at least twice a total number 123 of the parts of the object 128.</p> |
