The method involves producing direct current-output voltage (2) from input voltage for supply of a secondary regulator (3) i.e. periphery component, of an automation apparatus. Connection of the load to a voltage regulator (1) is introduced by using a high active release signal (4) and a low active release signal. The voltage regulator is excited by the release signals before the connection of the load. The voltage regulator is excited via feedback branches by using the release signals. The voltage regulator is excited by a load circuit by the high active release signal. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement with a load and a voltage regulator.
