A method for producing high-strength coke using a starting material obtained by adding a binder supplement to coal blends classified into fine-powdered coal and coarse-grained coal and kneading the resulting mixture, wherein a change in the rate of expansion of the fine-powdered coal and a change in the rate of expansion of the coarse-grained coal when the binder supplement is added are obtained, respectively, for every kind of the coal blends; and the binder supplement is added by adjusting the blending ratio of the binder supplement to the fine-powdered coal and the coarse-grained coal such that a difference in the rate of expansion between the fine-powdered coal and the coarse-grained coal when the binder supplement is added is smaller than a predetermined value. |
