<p>The method involves capturing of images of the surroundings of the vehicle. The structure-less and monochromic image regions are identified and evaluated in the captured images. The structure-less image regions are manipulated by overlaying easily detectable structures, if the evaluation lies over a threshold value. The identification of structure-less image regions takes place by histogram analysis, edge detection, or by comparing different areas of the image regions or region-based algorithms. An independent claim is included for a device for assisting a driver of a vehicle.</p> |
