PURPOSE: A service providing device for recognizing iris and a method thereof are provided to smoothly offer services in a busy state by using a high performance iris recognition method through an SSD(Solid State Disk) database and server. CONSTITUTION: A camera(40) for capturing iris obtains iris images by capturing the iris. A service providing terminal(50) requests various services by registering iris information by calculating an unique iris brightness information by receiving an iris image. An iris recognition server(70) stores the iris unique brightness value and personal information in an iris database. When the iris information is searched, the iris recognition server provides the personal information by searching the uniform iris brightness information in the iris database. A service providing server(80) requests the iris information according to a service request of the service providing terminal.
