PURPOSE: A standby power blocking socket is provided to recognize a connect electronic product by sensing power consumption value of the connect electronic product and confirming the sensed power consumption value in a standby power base database of each electronic product in a memory. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(720) converts a current consumed in a current sensing unit(740) into a power consumption value. The control unit compares the converted power consumption value with a base standby power value of a memory(800). The control unit recognizes an electronic product connected with a socket(200). If the power consumption value is lower than a standby power blockage reference value, the control unit blocks power supplied to the socket through a relay(600).
