A backlight unit is provided to improve the exterior quality of the backlight by reducing hot spots of an LED(Light Emitting Diode) lamp and making the brightness uniform in a light entrance region. A light guide plate(40) includes four processed upper edges of a light entrance surface. A plurality of LED lamps(42) are slantly arranged at predetermined intervals in a lower edge portions of at least one surface of the light guide plate. A lamp housing(44) surrounds the light entrance surface of the light guide plate. Recesses are formed along an edge in a lower portion of the light guide plate where the LED lamps are disposed. A reflection plate(46) is provided under the light guide plate. A PCB plate supports the LED lamps. A light dispersion unit(43) is provided on the light guide plate. |
