PURPOSE: A design device and a design method using the same are provided to prevent the construction of a non-efficient storage facility by providing an automatic design device for a storage facility. CONSTITUTION: A setting device(120) sets an initial value for a module and an element which are necessary for a storage facility. A design standard selecting device(131) receives a lot size standard from a client. When a transportation standard is selected, an essential data input device(132) receives essential data and the transportation amount of a storage facility from the client. The storage facility stores necessary data inputted by the client and an initial value set from the setting device. A main processing device(150) calculates numbers of modules for a peaking or a distribution area by using the initial value and the essential data.
