Provided are methods of identifying quiet zones in mass spectral data. The methods comprise, for example, summing the intensity of a representative number of fragmentation spectra obtained for a selected analyte. Also provided are methods of selecting a label for an analyte, such that the label produces a mass spectrometric signal in a quiet zone. |
