PROCESS OF ORGANOPOLYSILOXANE DEPOLYMERIZATION

The invention relates to a technology and processes for depolymerization of linear and branched non-cross-linked organopolysiloxanes and to the preparation on the basis of depolymerizates of organopolysiloxane as water repellents of surfaces of inorganic substances, namely surfaces of glass, minerals and powder fillers, in particular superfine silica. The process of organopolysiloxane depolymerization consists in the depolymerization of linear and branched dimethyl organopolysiloxanes with use of sulphuric acid and hexaeicosane alkyl- or arylsulfonic acid as activator of depolymerization reaction while heating to 85-95 °C and thorough mixing for 0.5-2 hours, and washing of prepared depolymerizate followed by setting-out and separation of aqueous acid layer from depolymerizate layer which is further used for modification and hydrophobization of surfaces of inorganic substances.
