There is disclosed a sheath for an electric cable for an electrically-powered trimmer and to an electrically-powered trimmer comprising a sheath. The trimmer has a body and first and second cutting blades each having a plurality of teeth. The trimmer also has a sheath disposed about at least a part of the cable. At least one portion of the sheath can be received in the cutting space between teeth and extends beyond the cable by a distance that exceeds the depth d of the cutting space. At least one portion of the sheath is wider than the opening width w of the cutting space. Thus, the dimensions of the sheath prevent the cable from entering the cutting space for any orientation of the sheath. |
