FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: present invention is applied for respiratory protection from airborne particles and/or off-odour or toxic gases. A folded flat face mask is cup-shaped when expanded to fit over user's mouth and nose. The mask comprises a porous layer and a supporting net. The porous layer comprises at least a first primary surface being extrorse when the mask is cup-shaped. The porous layer which the supporting net is laminated to comprises at least one fold and thereby may be opened from the flat folded position to the cup shape by at least partial expansion of at least one fold, and may be folded back to the flat position.
