PURPOSE: An access type discriminating method and system are provided to determine an access status based on an extracted round trip travel time for multiple packets transceived between a terminal and a router. CONSTITUTION: A round-trip travel time of a packet transceived between a router and a terminal using a collected time is extracted(S205). A terminal access type discriminating server compares a round-trip travel time with a predetermined RTT threshold time(S210). The terminal access type discriminating server accumulates discriminating times of a wired access about a corresponding terminal(S215). The terminal access type discriminating server accumulates discriminating times by discriminating a terminal access type as a wireless access for the flow matching with a round-trip travel time(S220). The terminal access type discriminating server compares a time of occurrence of a predetermined number of flows with the predetermined threshold period time(S225). The terminal access type discriminating server converts an access status of the corresponding terminal to the null status(S230).
