A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to change a main frequency of a main clock by changing an input frequency of an input signal without performing signal processing. A display device includes an input signal generating unit(110), a main clock generating unit(200), and a control signal generating unit(120). The input signal generating unit generates an input signal having one of plural input frequencies, which correspond to respective operation modes. The main clock generating unit generates a main clock(Mclk) using the input signal and a reference signal. A main frequency of the main clock is varied according to the input frequencies. A reference frequency of the reference signal is constantly maintained irrespective of the change of the operation modes. The control signal generating unit generates a control signal using the main clock. The control signal is varied according to the main frequency. |
