PURPOSE: A grinding machine and a control method thereof are provided to produce high quality floating seal because a constant load value is applied to workpieces by varying actuating pressure supplied to a cylinder device. CONSTITUTION: A control method for a grinding machine is as follows. A regulator(520) supplies actuating pressure set in a controller to a cylinder device(300). The cylinder device is actuated by the actuating pressure and a spindle mechanism is moved to grind workpieces. A load cell(600) measures load value applied to the workpieces by the spindle mechanism. If the measure load values get out of a range set in the controller, a warning device outputs warning sound. If the measure load values are within the range set in the controller, the controller resets the actuating pressure to make the load values be a machining value. |
