PURPOSE: A novel Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutant is provided to improve the productivity of organic selenium. CONSTITUTION: A Saccharomyces cerevisiae 6M(KACC93114P) mutant strain has an ability of producing organic selenium. The mutant strain is cultured together with 125 ppm of selenium and culture at pH 6 for 9 hours. Galactose and peptone are used as a carbon source and nitrogen source to produce organic selenium. The mineral source is magnesium sulfate and potassium chloride. |
