<p>PURPOSE: A power transfer unit for an auto transmission is provided to form forward 8speeds and backward 3speeds without increasing size of the auto transmission and the number of planetary gear sets. CONSTITUTION: A first shift gear shaft(30) is connected with an input shaft by a gear. As second shift gear shaft(70) is connected with the input shaft by the gear and is connected with an output shaft by the gear. A planetary gear set(50) comprises a first sun gear, a first carrier, and a first ring gear. A second planet gear set(80) comprises a second sun gear, a second carrier, and a second ring gear. A first brake(95) detains the first sun gear. A second brake(96) detains the second carrier. A first pinion is connected with the second sun gear by the gear. A second pinion is connected with the first pinion by the second carrier and is connected with the second ring gear by the gear.</p> |
