<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves determining a pulse width modulation (PWM) command error value for phases (U, V, W) in correspondence with a respective PWM period to compensate for dead time. A corrected PWM command value is determined based on PWM command value to adjust a voltage vector. A sign default value of the PWM error is determined based on electrical power and expected power of an induction machine (4) and the PWM command value of the phases. The PWM command value error is located based on the dead time and period duration. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for operating an induction machine (2) a propulsion system. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for operating an induction machine i.e. permanent-moved synchronous machine, at an inverter i.e. voltage intermediate circuit inverter, for a propulsion system (all claimed) i.e. vehicle propulsion system. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method enables compensation of the dead time in the inverter without measuring phase currents and phase voltages. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic circuit diagram of an induction motor during operation.
