PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing tranexamic acid and nicotinic acid amide is provided to effectively suppress melanocyte formation and to prevent or treat pigmentation. CONSTITUTION: A melanogenesis inhibitor contains 0.001-10 wt% of tranexamic acid and 0.001-10 wt% of nicotinic acid amide as active ingredients. The melanogenesis inhibitor further contains alpha- or beta-hydroxy acid. The alpha-hydroxy acid is glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid, or tartaric acid. The beta-hydroxy acid is beta-hydroxybutyric acid, beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate, carnitine, 3-hydroxypropionic acid, or salicylic acid. A cosmetic composition contains the melanogenesis inhibitor as an active ingredient. |
