PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for making a submarine image mosaic are provided to improve accuracy for image mosaic by making a submarine two-dimensional image mosaic based on precision position. CONSTITUTION: An image data acquiring unit(110) obtains a submarine image recorded in the current position from an underwater moving object. A moving data acquiring unit(120) obtains moving data of the current position from the underwater moving object. A position data acquiring unit(130) obtains the current position from a GPS receiver loaded within a box. A water depth data acquiring unit(150) obtains depth data of the current position from the underwater moving object. A position calculating unit(140) calculates a position coordinate of the moving object using moving data of the underwater moving object. The position calculating unit establishes a precision search area of a constant range which is established within 3D submarine geographic data based on the position of the underwater moving object. An image mosaic unit(160) makes a 2D image mosaics on the 3D submarine geographic data. |
