<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video decoding apparatus and a video decoding method that are able to bypass deblocking filtering by using inter-parallax prediction information. <P>SOLUTION: The video decoding apparatus decodes a compression-coded video stream, and includes: deblocking means that performs deblocking filtering on each of frames to be decoded; load detecting means that detects the size of an in-apparatus processing load including a processing load necessary for decoding; and determining means that, in accordance with a load level representing the size of the in-apparatus processing load detected by the load detecting means, determines whether or not the deblocking filtering is to be performed. When it is determined on the basis of the determination result of the determining means that the load level is not less than a predetermined threshold value, the deblocking filtering means omits the deblocking filtering when a block of the frame to be processed is used for inter-parallax prediction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
