STABLE AND SOLUBLE ANTIBODY INHIBITING TNFα

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optimized antibodies and antibody derivatives that bind to tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) and block the function thereof and are useful for the diagnosis and/or treatment, prevention or amelioration of TNFα-associated diseases.

SOLUTION: The invention relates to an scFv antibodies including VH and VL comprising specific amino acid sequences and showing excellent binding specificity toward TNFα. When the antibody is expressed and purified from E. coli, it gives satisfactory yields, and does not aggregate. The invention relates to the diagnosis and/or treatment of TNFα-associated disorders using the antibodies, nucleic acids, vectors and host cells for expression of the recombinant antibodies, and methods for isolating them.
