<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a wide flange beam, by which a large-sized wide flange beam which exceeds 190 mm in the leg length of flanges from the toe to the web part of a flange part, and is manufactured from a beam blank. <P>SOLUTION: As a roughing mill for performing rough forming rolling of the beam blank, an objective which has a dog-bone forming groove 8 for forming the beam blank into a dog-bone shape, a box-shaped flange reducing groove 9 for reducing the flange parts of the beam blank and a web reducing groove 10 for reducing the web part of the beam blank between an upper grooved roll 6 and lower grooved roll 7 is used. After reducing the flange parts of the beam blank formed into the dog-bone shape by the flange reducing groove 9, the web part of the beam blank 1 is reduced with a pair of upper and lower reducing projecting parts 11 which are formed in the middle part of web reducing groove 10 having a width which does not interfere with the insides of the flanges of the beam blank 1 and a height larger than the leg length of the flanges of the beam blank which is passed through the flange reducing groove. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
