The article includes an exterior surface with loop material affixed to a substantial portion of the exterior surface area of the pack or bag. The user may detachably secure patches or other objects to the surface of the backpack or personal article with hook and loop fastener material, providing a mechanism by which the user may accessorize and personalize their personal articles.
