Joined node self twisted pile yarn - used with untwisted pile yarn in tufted fabric or carpet

Pile yarn is made by allowing single yarns having sections of reversing false twist to self twist and ply together with the nodes at the twist reversal points being fastened together. The plied yarns has opposite twist to the single yarns between the joined nodes. This plied yarn is piled into a carpet or fabric together with piles made of untwisted unplied yarn. The pile in the carpet or fabric has high bulk, is inexpensive to mfr. and avoids streaking effects.
