Load transfer system for two vehicles - has lifting arms mounted in transverse channels, and telescopic bar to lock vehicles together

A load is transferred between a first and a second vehicle using lifting arms located in sunken channels running crossways to the respective vehicle loading platforms. The loading platforms are divided into a number of loading surfaces. Each arm consists of two parts. The upper arm is able to lift and the lower arm slides in and out by means of a hydraulic ram. The two vehicles are manuovered parallel to each other for load transfer and locked together to prevent tilting by means of a hydraulically operated bar. The bar is formed by two telescopic tubes with rectangular cross section held in guide channels running crossways to the vehicle chassis.
