In order to minimize localized increases in the thickness of a case, a mobile terminal device (1) is provided with: an external cover section having a main surface, a rear surface, and side surfaces surrounding the area between the main surface and the rear surface; and a plurality of component-receiving sections (20) that receive external components on the inside of the external cover section. The side surfaces comprise first and second side surfaces (S1, S2) that face each other, and third and fourth side surfaces (S3, S4) that face each other and are in contact with each of the first and second side surfaces (S1, S2). The plurality of component-receiving sections (20) are positioned only on one side (top-side area (5)) relative to a center partition line (CL) connecting a first center point (C1) that divides the total length (L1) of the first side surface (S1) into two and a second center point (C2) that divides the total length (L2) of the second side surface (S2) into two.
