<p>PURPOSE: A device for forming a frontal toothing on the inner ring of a wheel hub is provided to excellently and precisely connect a constant velocity joint with the inner ring of the wheel hub, and to transmit a high torque. CONSTITUTION: A device for forming a frontal toothing(2) on the inner ring(3) of a wheel hub(4) forms the frontal toothing on the inner ring of the wheel hub by plastic deformation. Each knife(10) includes a head(11), a body(12), an end portion(13). The head is protruded from a sheet(8) on the side of a first surface(6). The body shaped into a prism is axially longer than the sheet. The end portion shaped into a wedge protrudes from a second surface(7), and is opposite to the head when the head is faced on the first surface. The second surface is faced and fixed on the inner ring of the wheel hub in use. The end portions are adjacent to each other. The end portion has a first profile(14) corresponding to the profile of the frontal toothing. A profile, appearing between two tooth sides of the frontal toothing adjacent to each other when each knife is pressurized on the inner ring, is formed by the end portion.</p> |
