PURPOSE: An ophthalmic apparatus capable of improving the degree of precision of light amount detection is provided to place a transmission unit and a light amount detection unit on the optical axis of a light source for photography, thereby precisely detecting the amount of generated light. CONSTITUTION: An optical system illuminates an examined eye with light generated from a light source. A first reflection unit has a reflection surface and a transmission unit. The reflection surface reflects the light generated from the light source. A light amount detection unit(11) detects the amount of the light generated from the light source through the transmission unit. The first reflection unit is placed in the opposite direction to a direction of the light generated from the light source towards the examined eye.
