摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a case where the potential of a signal line changes every time a video signal is applied to a drive transistor from a signal line, charging and discharging take place due to the parasitic capacitance of the signal line, resulting in increase in power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The configuration of a display part having a gate signal line for selecting an input of a video signal to a pixel and a source signal line for inputting a video signal to a pixel is provided with a switch inserted in the source signal line in series and controlled such that when a pixel is not selected in the gate signal line, the switch is turned on and when a pixel is selected, it is turned off. Accordingly, parasitic capacitance affecting charging and discharging of the source signal line affects only the source signal line from an output of the source drive to a pixel selected for writing in the pixel.
