PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a nanowire is provided to form a metal nanowire with small diameter and long length. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a nanowire comprises a step of adding a metal compound and a capping agent to a solvent(ST20). The first capping agent contains a first capping agent and a second capping agent. The first capping agent contains a polymer of a first molecular weight. The second capping agent contains a polymer with a second molecular weight which is greater than the first molecular weight. The polymers are polyvinylpyrrolidone.
