PURPOSE: A surface mounting type light emitting device is provided to improve adhesion and impact resistance by using a reflector made of curing materials of thermosetting resin compositions and the thermosetting resin compositions as a sealing resin composition. CONSTITUTION: A reflector(1) includes a first lead(11) for mounting a light emitting device(2) and a second lead(12) which is electrically connected to the light emitting device. An Au wire(3) electrically connects the light emitting device to the leading end of the second lead. The reflector is made of thermosetting resin compositions and includes a concave part with a lower side and a lateral side. The wall thickness of resins on the lateral side of the concave part is 50 to 500 um.
