<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stainless steel for a fuel battery separator, which is excellent in contact resistance and practicalibity. <P>SOLUTION: The stainless steel contains C: 0.03% or lower, Si: 1.0% or lower, Mn: 1.0% or lower, S: 0.01% or lower, P: 0.05% or lower, AI: 0.20% or lower, N: 0.03% or lower, and Cr: 16 to 40%, also contains one kind of Ni: 20% or lower, Cu: 0.6% or lower and Mo: 2.5% or lower, and a balance comprising Fe and an inevitable impurities. Then, Fe is detected when the surface of the stainless steel is measured by photoelectron spectroscopy. Furthermore, a ratio between the sum of the atom density of Cr and Fe other than metal forms which is calculated from a result that peaks of Cr and Fe are separated to a metal peak and a peak other than the metal peak and the sum of the atom density of Cr and Fe which are in the metal forms is 3.0 or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
