<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable, in an information recording device capable of relay recording in which a series of pieces of data is consecutively recorded across a plurality of pieces of recording media and a control method thereof, the relay recording, taking into consideration a case where the recording media includes memory card with a radio communication function. <P>SOLUTION: If a relay recording mode is set, an information recording device discriminates whether any recordable recording medium has a radio communication function (S502).
