<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can optimize a conveyance mode according to the type of a recording sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a sheet feeding mechanism 40 that feeds the recording sheet from an end to a conveyance path while rotating the recording sheet that is wound like a roll; a conveyance mechanism 50 that is located downstream of the conveyance path to convey the recording sheet; an image recording part 30 that is located in a front conveyance direction of the recording sheet when viewed from the conveyance mechanism 50; a control part 100 including a plurality of control modes having at least one of a section that makes the sheet feeding mechanism 40 and the conveyance mechanism 50 pull the recording sheet in the conveyance path, or loosen it during a conveyance period so that they are correlated with the plurality of predetermined recording sheets.
