<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake capable of supressing brake noise and reducing uneffective input in starting stepping on a brake pedal, which mproves brake performance. <P>SOLUTION: A shim plate 9 is interposed between a friction pad 5 and a piston 4. The shim plate 9 is coated with viscoelastic bodies 9B, 9C. The viscoelastic body 9B of the shim plate 9 is flatly formed on the surface. Moreover, a plurality of projections 8D are formed on a plane 8B, opposed to the shim plate, of the back plate 8 of the friction pad 5. During the braking operation, each of the projections 8D sinks into the viscoelastic body 9B of the shim plate 9, which generates strain deformation in the viscoelastic body 9B and thus reduces vibration of the friction pad 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
