<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device arranging an infrared ray light receiving element or the like in the inner part of waterproof construction. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device includes: a display panel 13 for displaying an image; a transparent protective member 22 for covering the front surface of the display panel; a housing 20 for covering at least the side surfaces and the rear surface of the display panel; and a light receiving element 44 which is housed in the inner part of the housing and light-receives an operation signal from a remote controller.
