Provided is a snap fastener-forming method that can reduce snap fastener production costs and inventory control workload. An intermediate snap member (10), which has a disc-shaped bottom part (11) and a cylindrical side part (12) that stands on the outer edge of the bottom part (11) in the radial direction, is obtained. Then, the side part (12) of the intermediate snap member (10) is deformed to selectively form a male snap (40) or a female snap (30) as desired. The intermediate snap member (10) can be made of metal. The working from the intermediate snap member (10) to the male snap (40) or to the female snap (30) can be performed when the intermediate snap member (10) is fixed to a fabric (15).
