The absorbent article production method comprises: a step of cutting a wing member starting material sheet thereby forming a continuous series of wing members that are partially connected to the trims; a step of forming respective adhesive areas on the protruding portions of the continuous wing member series, and covering the adhesive areas located on each side of the continuous wing member series with respective continuous series of separators; a step of removing the trims from the continuous wing member series; a step of forming the wing members that have the adhesive areas and the separators; and a step of joining the wing members to a continuous series of backing sheets.
