PURPOSE: A transmission control method of an automatic transmission vehicle is provided to propose a transmission performing logic by controlling fluid pressure of a friction element according to target shift range. CONSTITUTION: A request of changing a shift from a neutral level to a drive level while stepping on a brake is determined. Road condition is collected when a vehicle stops. A gradient of the collected road condition information is determined compared to a standard value. A target shift is set to a second stage. The shift is performed to the second stage by controlling a fluid pressure of a friction element.
