<p>Disclosed is a method for controlling switching of active/standby pseudo wires (PWs). In the method, an ARP monitoring module configured at a cell-site side of a cell-site gateway monitors an ARP packet from the cell-site side; when an active PW has a fault, an ARP agent, after receiving a PW redundancy switching message, utilizes a standby PW to send the monitored ARP packet to a PE-AGG2 and a UPE2 connected to the standby PW according to the redundancy switching message, then sends the redundancy switching message to a UPE1, and triggers a corresponding VSI to relearn a source MAC address of the ARP packet so as to lead downlink traffic to the standby PW. Accordingly, the present invention also provides an apparatus for controlling switching of active/standby PWs. By implementing the method and the apparatus provided in the present invention, the switching of the active/standby PWs is not determined according to the frequency of a heartbeat packet, so as to achieve controllability on the traffic switching time of the active/standby PWs.</p> |
