The method involves determining viscosity of a substance sample (6) i.e. film, polymerized with an irradiation (1) i.e. UV-light, by time variation of a spectrum of an exciting light (2). The time variation of the spectrum of the exciting light is correlated with time variation of fluorescence (3). The sample is attached on a common sample carrier (4) and parallel measured. The exciting light is obtained from a common light source. The carrier is created by an embossing process. A transparent embossing cylinder is used, so that the viscosity is detected in an embossing or pressure line. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for performing a rigidochromic process.
